The LAC Rebrand, 2014-2017:

A new owner = a new logo and new jerseys. Steve Ballmer’s purchase of the team brought new ideas and concepts to the Clippers and the owner was quick to rebrand the franchise. While Ballmer’s rebrand left behind the Sterling era design, the new logo and jerseys were not well received around the league. The simple designs of the new red away jerseys were so disliked, the team opted to use the black alternates as their away jerseys for most of the season. The team also began to go by the “LA Clippers” instead of the “Los Angeles Clippers” in order to distance themselves from the Los Angeles Lakers.
