Willie Reed – Hit

Rating: 74

Willie Reed is a behemoth. He played a very limited role with the Miami Heat last season, however, when he was given his chance to shine, he always took full advantage of it. In a mere 5 games as a starter, Reed averaged an insane 15 points and 8 boards per game. He played 30+ minutes in 3 of those contests, in which he averaged an even more ridiculous 21 points and 12 boards per game. This tells us two things. The first is that, statistically speaking, Reed may be one of the most overlooked backup bigs in the league. The second is security. If DJ ever goes down with an injury (which seems highly unlikely), Reed would certainly do his part to keep the Clippers afloat. He’s a reliable big that will work his hardest regardless of his role, and also, he’s only 27. LA’s push for youth and length is exemplified entirely by Reed.
