The LA Clippers aren’t even at their new arena, and they are already innovating new and special ways to watch the team play in person.

For the small price of $4,070 per seat, per game, you can watch the game from the new “Star Courtside” seats. These aren’t your regular courtside seats though, as they will be in between each playing teams’ respective benches. Fans who purchase the seats will be just feet away from NBA players. This is a heckler’s dream! From one of these seats, you can yell at Doc Rivers to put in our rookies when we are winning!

According to Bleacher Report, included with purchase of the seats is access to “all-inclusive clubs, personal waiting services, and valet parking to a VIP entrance.”  Rather than just a ticket for a courtside seat, this is really a package deal. The scorers’ table had to be broken up into several pieces in order to add these new seats. The seats will also be on the TV side of the court, meaning you will be seen on national television if you sit here.

Clippers president Gillian Zucker describes the new available seating option as “beachfront property”. No doubt about it, this is a very innovative idea, and other teams may follow suit. When you do the math for the revenue at the end of the season from these new seats (assuming all 8 sell for every game), the total income is $1,367,520. This is just the total amount of course, not the profit for the team. However, you can see how selling tickets for these seats will be an effective new revenue stream for the organization.

Have you decided if the new seats are worth the price yet? Well, that really depends on how much money you have, and how badly you want this experience. Surely some celebrities will be interested, mainly because of the ability to get on camera while at the game. If you’re a Clippers fan, sitting at the new “Star Courtside” seats should definitely be on your bucket list!
