According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, the LA Clippers are hiring former Knicks executive Mark Hughes as Assistant GM.

Continuing their long and productive Summer, the LA Clippers have just made another big move. The Clippers will welcome Mark Hughes to their front office, who has been in the Knicks organization since 2007.

The news was broken by Shams Charania of The Vertical, who has provided several internet-breaking tweets this offseason.

Hughes, 50, was a member of the 1989 NCAA Champion Michigan Wolverines, and had a brief stint in the NBA. He also worked as an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings. He joined the Knicks organization in 2007 as a scout, and became the Director of Player Personnel in 2011. Hughes will join Mike Winger and Mark Redden as part of the Clippers’ revamped front office.

Plenty of significant changes have happened since Steve Ballmer took over as the owner of the organization. However, this Summer has brought the most change by far. It all started when Jerry West was brought in as an adviser. Soon after, Doc Rivers was removed from his position as President of Basketball Operations. Since then, the Clippers have consistently been adding great talent to their front office. What was once an organization devoid of any skill or recognizable talent now appears set to thrive.
