The LA Clippers big man, DeAndre Jordan, took some time out of his schedule to help former teammate and friend, Matt Barnes in Athletes vs. Cancer.
The offseason is a great time for players to get together and work for their respective charities. Over the weekend, the LA Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan joined his friend Matt Barnes, among several others to participate in his flag football game for Athletes vs. Cancer.
Among other participants in the event were Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia, Aaron Gordon, Jordan Clarkson while Draymond Green and Kevin Durant watched, but did not play.
DeAndre managed to snag a few catches, including the one handed beauty below. He also was able to bring in an extra point. DJ credited his good hands for the play.

Clearly from the picture, DeAndre could have played some tight end in the NFL. As Matt Barnes caption says, a 7ft receiver who can leap above everyone would be an impossible threat to guard. Slam Dunk Contest runner-up Aaron Gordon couldn’t even get high enough to break up this catch by DJ. Thankfully for us LA Clippers’ fans, DeAndre stuck with basketball.
During the 4th quarter, Jeff Garcia had to play quarterback for both teams after Barnes’ quarterback, Akili Smith, inured his hip. Garcia threw touchdowns for both teams, but in the end, Matt Barnes’ team pulled out the victory on a last second pass by Garcia.
