It’s about damn time. The LA Clippers teased on Twitter today that they will reveal their new Nike jerseys on August 11th.

The flags in the background should seem familiar to Clippers’ fans. The Clips’ sleeved jerseys from a few years back featured these nautical flags on the shorts. The flags actually spell out “LAC”. Could these flags in the background mean the team is getting the light blue color scheme back?
This would be a welcome sight, especially after the team’s re-brand was met with a lot of animosity. It even got to the point where the team started to wear their alternate black jerseys for most road games, since no one really seemed to like their red away jerseys.
With the new partnership with Nike, NBA teams will no longer have the traditional “home” and “away” jerseys. Instead, they will have “Association” and “Icon” jerseys. Some teams will also have alternates, along with a select few having throwback uniforms. The biggest change of course, will be the inclusion of sponsors on team jerseys.
Teams, such as Cleveland, have revealed big changes to their jerseys, while others seem to be just updated versions of what they have been wearing. You can check out the jerseys that have been revealed so far by looking here. Which way will the LA Clippers go? We’ll find out on Thursday.
