The LA Clippers aren’t done with free agency just yet. Today, they will meet with free agent center Willie Reed.

According to Alex Kennedy, the LA Clippers will meet with free agent center Willie Reed today.

Reed would bring more size to the Clippers and could be a cheap back up to All-NBA center DeAndre Jordan. Reed, who is listed at 6’10 and 220lbs has only played two seasons in the NBA. Last season with the Miami Heat, he appeared in 71 games.

For the season, Reed averaged 5.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game. He did this while shooting 56.8% from the field and 55.7% from the free throw line. Reed improved across the board from his rookie season and learning under DJ could be beneficial for the big man.

Check out his highlights from last season:

As  you can see, Reed has a solid jump hook and what looks to be decent court awareness. He can also finish lobs and has no problem going up for offensive rebounds. The former will be very helpful, especially when paired with newly acquired guard, Milos Teodosic.

If the LA Clippers manage to add Willie Reed, they will have essentially finished revamping the bench after the departure of Chris Paul. Currently, the bench looks to feature Austin Rivers, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker and Montrezl Harrell. Second year player Brice Johnson could also see some minutes, along with rookies Jawun Evans and Sindarius Thornwell. On paper, this is already one of the more deep teams that the Clippers have had in years. The addition of Reed will only improve the bench for the Clips.
