With the beginning of free-agency just two days away, a new team has emerged as a possible threat to steal Blake Griffin away from the LA Clippers. That team you ask? The Phoenix Suns.

A day after the heartbreaking news of Chris Paul’s departure, LA Clippers fans are still in mourning. Well, that mourning may end up lasting a whole lot longer for Blake Griffin leaves.

Brad Turner of the LA Times reported that the Phoenix Suns have scheduled a meeting with Blake Griffin on Saturday, the first day of free-agency.

The Clippers have the upper edge, as they can offer Blake around $40 million more. However, with the departure of Chris Paul, there’s speculation Griffin might want out now.

Phoenix is definitely an interesting option. They finished last season 24-58, the worst record in the Western Conference. Though, they do have a team with a plethora of young talent and potential. With Devin Booker, Marquese Chriss, & Josh Jackson, all of whom are not legally able to drink yet, there’s no question this team has a bright future.

If Griffin re-signs with the Clippers, there’s no question that this is Blake’s team. With rumors circulating that him and CP3 didn’t get along, maybe now he can finally flourish on his own.  At this point, it’s just a matter of what Blake wants. Which is tough, because nobody has any idea at all what exactly he wants.
