After news broke that the LA Clippers agreed to trade Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets ahead of his upcoming free agency, the team now looks to re-sign Griffin.

Among all of the chaos that erupted this morning when news broke that Chris Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets not even after 24 hours after reports suggested they had become a serious threat to acquire Paul, Brad Turner tweeted one sentence that could suggest all hope is lost for LA Clippers fans. Turner reported that sources told him that the Clippers believe that trading away Paul to Houston has cleared the way for the team to re-sign Blake Griffin.

Sam Amico, an NBA insider, reported that several league executives that he spoke to prior to the trade speculated that a Chris Paul departure, whether it be by trade or in free agency, would lead to a Blake Griffin return to LA.

Chris Paul’s departure could either ensure that Griffin will re-sign with the Clippers or ensure that the talented forward avoids what seems like an impending rebuild with Jerry West at the reins by choosing a fresh start elsewhere.

Last week after Griffin announced he was opting out of contact, reports surfaced that Griffin had become frustrated with the Clippers organization and no longer wanted any part of Chris Paul.

Does CP3 being traded to the Rockets once again make the Clippers an appealing team or will he still choose to move on via free agency?
