Rumor: LA Clippers are looking to buy 2nd round pick(s) in the NBA Draft

With the NBA Draft starting tonight at 7pm EST, rumors have come out that the LA Clippers are looking to buy a second round pick.

The LA Clippers currently do not have any picks in the NBA draft. However, that’s not stopping them from trying to get one. According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Clips are looking to acquire at least one second round pic.

"The Clippers want in so they have an additional asset for the future, a young player they would most likely assign to their Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario team, which will play in the NBA’s Gatorade League."

The Clippers could definitely use an infusion of youth, especially if a player they believe in drops to a point where they can buy a pick. The addition of the G-League team will allow them to develop whatever youngster they trade for, possibly beside last years picks, Brice Johnson and Diamond Stone.

There are several teams who have multiple second round picks. The Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets all have multiple second round picks, so they would be more likely to sell.

It will be interesting to see what route the Clippers do take tonight. Rumors have sprung up about the team in recent days, including one about the team shopping All-Star DeAndre Jordan.

If the team is to deal DJ, then expect a lot more back than just a simple second round pick. Newly hired Jerry West could have something up his sleeves.
