According to reports, the LA Clippers, among other teams, will persue free agent Andre Iguodala.

Andre Iguodala plans to consider other teams this summer according to The Vertical. The LA Clippers are among the various teams that are going to pursue the two way small forward.

Iguodala is just 3 seasons removed from winning the NBA Finals MVP award after earning his first title with the Golden State Warriors. Despite finding a ton of success with the Warriors, Iguodala will be a highly sought after free agent, due to his capabilities on both the offensive and defensive end.

"Among teams around the league, there’s a belief that the value this summer for a two-way wing such as Iguodala could reach $20 million annually.More from ClipperholicsGrade the trade: Clippers shockingly land Trae Young in wild proposal3 of the most overpaid players on the LA Clippers’ rosterTrading for this player covers the Clippers’ biggest weaknessHow will the LA Clippers fare in the in-season tournament? Why the LA Clippers should steer clear of recent gold medalist waiver"

This could be well out of the Clips price range, especially if they plan to sign both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul back. Iggy could be the missing small forward that the Clippers would need.

Iguodala leaving the Warriors could cause issues for Golden State as well. If they plan to re-sign both Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, the team will be severely limited financially. Re-signing Iggy would be possible due to owning his bird rights. However, if he leaves, the team will have to settle for someone at a minimum contract to fill the void left behind.

Backup point guard Shaun Livingston could present the same problem as Iguodala does if he decides to test the market.

The LA Clippers will be shopping around for small forwards this offseason to hopefully fill the void. It’s possible that Jerry West’s connection to the Warriors could help convince Iggy to join the team.
