LA Clippers should chase Carmelo this off-season

Chasing Carmelo Anthony has been well documented within the last year. Bringing him in could be paramount for the team to add LeBron James.

The Clippers would have to move Austin Rivers alongside Jamal Crawford and Wes Johnson. However, the team may want to keep Austin because he is productive and can start at the two if J.J Redick leaves. But, bringing in Anthony to play small-forward could be more advantageous if it means convincing LeBron to come out west. The Clippers could then easily move Blake Griffin to get back some depth and play LeBron or Carmelo at the 4 in a small ball lineup.

Melo does have a no trade clause in his contract so if the New York Knicks plan on getting rid of him they will have to get his okay on the trade. The Clippers have some options this summer but adding Melo is something they should look at.

The Clippers do not have a pick in the draft and it might be smart to save money than buying into the draft during the second round. With the addition of Jerry West, it’s definitely going to be an interesting offseason for the LA Clippers.
