Lonzo Ball was recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live accompanied by his daddy, LaVar Ball. There were comments made about the LA Clippers.

It’s no secret that LaVar Ball and Lonzo Ball want the latter to play for the Lakers. On Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, they made sure everyone knew it.

Early on in the segment, Lonzo Ball gave his spiel on why he is so interested in playing for the Lakers (despite reports of Lonzo being out of shape at his Lakers training session). The main reason for Lonzo’s desire to wear purple and gold is the fact that his family lives in LA. When Lonzo brought up this point, Jimmy Kimmel jumped in with “no interest in the Clippers?” Lonzo replied with the following statement:

"“They don’t really have a chance so no.”-Lonzo Ball when asked if he is interested in playing for the LA Clippers"

While we assume that Lonzo meant this in all seriousness considering the Clippers do not have any picks in the 2017 NBA draft, this answer brought laughter from his dad, the audience, and Kimmel alike.

If Jimmy Kimmel needed to insert a joke at this point in his show he could have easily displayed the Lakers’ last four regular season records behind him but hey, this isn’t our corny late-night show.

Kimmel’s next questions were Clipper-free and aimed at the real star of the NBA draft, Lavar Ball, but what else could Lonzo’s short statement mean?

“The Clippers don’t have a chance.” A chance at what? A chance at winning a championship? Maybe this is Lonzo’s reason for not wanting to be a Clipper. Surely he realizes that the Clippers have been the only LA team to have actually have a chance at gold in recent seasons. They have been the only team from LA to make the playoffs in the past four years. If Lonzo would rather play for a team who has been known to tank for draft picks than a team who takes every risk trying to make it to the NBA finals, then that’s on him.

RUMORS: Lakers may draft Josh Jackson

While Lonzo Ball feels like the Lakers would be a great fit for him, I’m not sure if a lottery team is the right place for such a “Big Baller”. Either way, he won’t be on the LA Clippers next season, and him and his father probably aren’t very interested in the team in any aspect.
