LA Clippers Fall to the Utah Jazz in a Lackluster Game 7
The LA Clippers are now looking for places to go fishing after losing game 7 against the Utah Jazz at home.
The LA Clippers signed some nice pieces in the off-season to hopefully push through to at least the Western Conference Finals. However, it all ended Sunday afternoon when the Clippers fell to the Utah Jazz in a heartbreaking loss. The Clippers missed their super star forward Blake Griffin, who missed his three straight game (toe injury).
DeAndre Jordan scored a Clipper-high 24 points on 9-12 shooting and secured 17 rebounds. Chris Paul added 13 points and did his best to keep scooping out the water from a sinking ship, but the Jazz kept popping more holes. J.J. Redick scored only one 3-pointer and it came with three minutes left till the off-season. Jamal Crawford added 20 points off the bench to help provide an offensive spark when the Clippers needed it.
After the first quarter, the LA Clippers fell behind and fought from behind the rest of the way. The Jazz and their defense made Paul fight through and over double teams to try to will his team to a game 7 victory. You have to tip your hat to the Jazz. They played hungrier than the Clippers and without Blake Griffin, the Jazz were able to key in on Paul to force others to make plays.
Gordon Hayward scored 26 points and added 8 rebounds on an efficient day to help propel the Jazz to the second round. Derrick Favors added 17 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Rudy Gobert sat most of the game because of foul trouble. He was essentially rendered ineffective for the game but it did not matter.
