On yesterday’s episode of “The Herd”, host Colin Cowherd said that the LA Clippers should let Blake Griffin go. Here’s why he is dead wrong and the Clippers need their star man now more than ever.

Colin Cowherd loves to say some crazy things. The controversial broadcaster was at it again on Wednesday, calling for Blake Griffin’s head, just a day after the latter helped the LA Clippers level their first-round series against the Utah Jazz. Cowherd has not been impressed by Griffin and has claimed that the power forward is not the star everyone thinks he is.

"“I’m going to pat myself on the back. I’ve been pretty good at guessing what star won’t be a star. I never bought into Melo, and I never bought into Blake Griffin. … I used to call him the best volleyball player in the league. He’s at the net, slam dunking. Still can’t hit anything outside of nine feet. So I go to the Clippers [game], now, second time in a week. And I saw them four or five times live this year.”"

So he thinks that Griffin is not good enough because he has seen him play “four or five times”? That’s like me saying that Tom Brady is overrated despite never having watched a game of American football. Mind you Mr. Cowherd, Griffin has transformed into a more complete player this season. He has a 3-point field goal percent of 33.6% this season, which is 4% more than his career average. He made 38 of them this season. His mid-range game is great. Don’t you dare say he can’t hit anything outside of nine feet.

Griffin has scored at an average of 21.6 points per game and has also improved defensively. His agility, pace and athleticism make him one of the most important players for the Clips.

And by the way, Cowherd is the same guy who said that Russell Westbrook should not be in the MVP race because “he’s not good on TV”. So it’s very important that his baseless comments are ignored. Because the LA Clippers need Griffin now more than ever.
