The job of an NBA mascot is to entertain fans, cheer for his team, and most importantly to have fun.  Chuck the Condor of the LA Clippers had a whole lot of fun at the game against the Rockets on March 10th.

On February 29th 2016, the LA Clippers welcomed Chuck the Condor to the family. The colorful bird has just as much, if not more charisma than any other NBA mascot. He also has the largest wingspan of any mascot in the league. Pretty impressive isn’t it?

In all seriousness though, we love our colorful condor, and so does the Clippers owner, Steve Ballmer. He made the following comment whenever he was first introduced to the NBA:

"“Chuck is my wingman, and I am PUMPED that he is officially part of Clipper Nation! Like me, Chuck loves the Clippers, and I want Clipper Nation to follow Chuck, wear shoes like Chuck, and cheer like crazy, JUST LIKE CHUCK!”"

Chuck is a great entertainer, and he did not disappoint during this game.

As the LA Clippers and Houston Rockets played each other, Chuck revealed to us a sign that read “I want #4 seed and bird seed”. He has a special knack for puns, and they usually contain some bird-related content. Who doesn’t enjoy a good, cheesy pun?

His next actions were the highlight of his flight–correction, the highlight of his night. (Pun intended, though Chuck is much better at them than me). During the game, a Houston Rockets fan was in the crowd, being loud and proud. He had a sign that read “GO ROCKETS. Best in the west!”. Chuck did not take kindly to this. He smashed him in the face with a pie, in true NBA mascot manner, and held up his own sign reading “Mess with Texas!”.

You can see both of these situations below on Chuck’s Twitter feed.

The LA Clippers sure messed with the visiting team from Texas, and ended the game on top 125-96. The blowout victory was extremely enjoyable for LA Clippers’ fans, and Chuck the Condor made this night even more entertaining.
