LA Clippers: What Brandon Bass can do against the Utah Jazz

The Clippers’ Hitman : Brandon Bass
If Bass plays like the hustle player we know he is, he can do damage on the court. Diving for loose balls, setting hard screens, and down right doing the dirty work will confirm his presence in each game. Bass can be the Clippers’ Draymond Green in the playoffs. Everyone hates Green, yet his effect on the Warriors’ opponents are undeniable. He gets in players’ heads, he talks crap, and he kicks people in their what-nots. All of these attitude actions can contribute big-time in team victories.
Bass can be the LA Clippers’ hit man: our Charles Barkley, our Dennis Rodman, you get the idea. I would advocate for Bass to rough up our opponents during the game. Mind games such as this have no stat except for possibly fouls, yet they can be effective. An example of such mind games is the infamous “Jordan rules” created by former Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas. The Detroit “Bad Boys” played extremely physical defense on Michael Jordan and the Bulls and were successful in shutting them out of the playoffs in 1988, 1989, and 1990.

Our team has lost a lot of its’ grit and attitude since losing Matt Barnes, and I think an expendable player like Brandon Bass could bring it back just in time for the playoffs. We may not see much dirty playing from him, but as long as he hustles whenever he is out there, he will make his minutes valuable.
