As the LA Clippers prepare for their first round playoffs match-up with the Utah Jazz, here is how Brandon Bass needs to contribute for a series victory.
Will Brandon Bass even Play?
This is the big question. We sure hope so. He is a better option than forwards Paul Pierce, Wesley Johnson, and Alan Anderson. Brandon Bass has a huge amount of potential, yet nearly the whole season has gone by without us seeing anything significant from him. I blame the low amount of minutes he has been getting, not to mention how inconsistent his playing times have been from game to game. There have been plenty of Bass-less Clippers games this season.
His season averages are 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in just over 11 minutes. The untapped potential is shown by his per 36 minutes stats which read 17.8 points and 8 rebounds. If Bass were to receive more minutes, we could see a serious effect on the game. But stats are not everything when it comes to the NBA, especially when you are playing on limited time such as in a 7-game playoff series.
