Austin Rivers, who is currently having the best season of his career, will miss the remainder of the regular season.
According to head coach Doc Rivers, Austin Rivers will miss the remainder of the season with a left hamstring strain. Rivers, who injured his hamstring in a win Wednesday night against the Wizards, is currently averaging career highs in nearly every category.
However, the injury is not too serious, and Rivers could return as early as the first round.
Rivers spoke with the LA Times’ Brad Turner about the injury.
"“I’m disappointed. I was looking forward to this year’s playoffs,” he said. “The goal was game one of the playoffs, but it’s looking like hopefully mid-first round, early second round. We’ll see. You never know, I might heal faster than I think so. In my mind, my goal is to be back by the first round, for game one or game two, which is ideal. So, we’ll see.”"
The playoffs begin April 15th.
