The Points Didn’t Stop Coming

A new record was set last night, as the Clippers poured in a season-high 133 points. They never trailed the Lakers and had a 70-40 halftime lead. Here’s how the stat sheet looked:

  • Chris Paul: 27 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 9/15 FGM (25 MIN)
  • J.J. Redick: 24 points, 7/9 FGM, 4/5 3PM (18 MIN)
  • Austin Rivers: 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 6/11 FGM (31 MIN)
  • Jamal Crawford: 15 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 6/10 FGM (30 MIN)

DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin each finished with 12 points a piece and neither played more than 25 minutes.

The defense in the second quarter was as good as any, as LA gave up just 16 points to their 37 scored. This comes nearly a week after Redick was openly critical of the team:

"“I don’t know what to expect from this team anymore. We’re in a bad place right now. We’re losing games. We’ve been s**t since the All-Star break.” -per Bill Oram, Orange County Register"

Although the Lakers scored 11 points in the last 5 minutes of the second, it seems as though the Clippers may have given Redick something to be proud of.
