Why is the Clippers’ Blake Griffin always overlooked?

Throughout his career, Blake Griffin has constantly produced at a high level. Yet, he is constantly overlooked and dubbed “overrated” in comparison to other power forwards.

There are a multitude of reasons for this, none of which actually include his numbers. One can look at his stats and advanced analytics and see that he’s an amazing, valuable player. But attach the familiar name “Blake” to the numbers and people are less than impressed.

“The Clippers can’t go anywhere without Blake.” Does that imply that the main reason the Clippers struggle in the post season is because of Blake? Or does that mean that he’s such a great player that the Clippers can’t do much without him?

Why doesn’t he ever get the recognition he deserves?
