Omri Casspi

After playing one game with the New Orleans Pelicans, the team decided to part ways with the Israeli swingman.

Omri Casspi, who broke his thumb on Thursday evening against the Houston Rockets was averaging 6.1 points and four rebounds in only 18 minutes per game.

The Clippers aren’t desperate to make any sort of move at this stage, especially now that both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are back. Which is why Casspi in particular must be considered.

The expected time-frame for his injury as reported by the Pelicans is 4-6 weeks, which would put his potential return in early April, just before the start of the playoffs.

Omri Casspi is worth taking a chance on. His relatively slender 6’9″ frame makes him an ideal candidate to incorporate into a small-ball line-up. The 39% from beyond the 3-point line would tie him as the Clippers 3rd best shooting option and with a superior team around him, and Chris Paul running the offense, the quality of his looks would skyrocket.
