Jamal Crawford, Shooting Guard

The fact that Jamal Crawford has never been an All-Star before is somewhat of a travesty.

The only player in NBA history to win the Sixth Man of the Year award on three different occasions, Jamal Crawford is one of the very best to ever do it at his position.

Crawford, who despite turning 37 years old next month, is still among the top scoring players off the bench. Depending on how he performs in the second half of the season, he could potentially be in the running for another Sixth Man of the Year award again.

“J-Crossover” as he’s so fondly known around the league has a reputation as one of the best ball handlers ever. His signature behind the back dance moves have been droppin’ fools for years.

To put into perspective how fascinating a non All-Star career Crawford has had, here are some facts.

  • Only ever three-time Sixth Man of the Year
  • All-Time leader in 4-point plays
  • 3x 50-point games
  • 73rd on the NBA All-Time scoring list
  • 5th on the NBA All-Time 3-pointers list
  • 7th in games played among active players
  • 11th in scoring among active players
  • 10 seasons scoring 15 points or more per game
  • Career averages 15.5pts, 3.4ast and 2.4reb

The one that should stand out more than the others is the three 50 point games. A couple of other names to have exactly 3 games scoring 50 or more are: David Robinson, Shaquille O’Neil and Dwayne Wade (two of which are 1st ballot half-of-fame inductees, and one who will be in the coming years).

Crawford’s best statistical season came with the New York Knicks in 07-08 when he averaged a career high 20.6 points and five assists.
