Clippers Summer League: 5 takeaways from Orlando
Guards step up
Summer league veteran C.J. Wilcox went down with injury, early in Orlando. That left an opportunity for some roster hopefuls.
Insert Andrew Andrews. No, that is not a typo. There is an undrafted rookie on the Clippers roster with two first names
Andrews played a team-high 36 minutes in game two versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. He finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
After his second start, SB Nation wrote:
"“Andrews played all right. He knows how to play the game and can do a little bit of everything.”"
You can not really ask for more out of a player trying to make the roster. Andrews got an opportunity and competed. The Clippers could atleast bring him into training camp to see if he can build on that momentum.
Either way, another rookie guard stepped up during the Summer League.

David Michineau showed some playmaking ability. He lead the squad in assists for the first three games of action. At one point, he was leading the Summer League in assists per game.
Unfortunately, Michineau also got way too many turnovers.
Many people in Orlando reported that Michineau was too loose with the ball. Then again, the entire Clippers Summer League roster had too many turnovers.
In the end, Michineau displayed some skills that could translate into the NBA. He averaged about 4 assists, 4 turnovers and 8 points in Orlando. However, he needs to polish his handles and shooting touch. That is evident by his final game where he failed to convert from the field.
