One of the youngest teams in the NBA may decide to trade the third of the first round picks. However, this pick they take a chance on the best player available, despite concerns over his knees that has caused his draft stock to fall.

Denzel Valentine draws a lot of comparisons to fellow Michigan State alum Draymond Green because of his ability to do everything (bar defending at an elite level). In this instance, though, Valentine plays at shooting guard and has the added benefit of hitting 44.4 percent of his threes last season. The Nuggets hope he can insert a little bit of everything into their lineup.

Valentine could immediately push Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris for time at either wing position.

With a young Valentine in the rotation, it is also makes it easier for the Nuggets to finally trade Danilo Gallinari or Kenneth Faried, like it has been rumored over the past few seasons.

Valentine would have been a great fit with the Clippers, but some things are too good to come true.

SG, Michigan State to Nuggets

By Pete Camarillo.

Considering the Nuggets picked not too long ago, this is a luxury pick for the Nuggets.
