Luc Mbah a Moute

Grade: A

Tim Hiley: Luc Mbah a Moute is as unflashy of a player as you could want to find. I would struggle to name you one memorable play from Mbah a Moute, and that is what makes him such a great acquisition.

He has production that doesn’t get shown in any box score, as his impact is immeasurable. It was so serendipitous that we signed him up for our 15th roster spot on the day before the start of the season. Mbah a Moute enables Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and others to do their flashy plays because he does the work that they don’t want to do, with hard hustling for lose balls and reliable defense.

In years past, Matt Barnes was that guy, and had we not signed Mbah Moute, I don’t think the Clippers would have had as good a season as they did, and that is a large credit to Mbah Moute’s workmanship.
