15 January 2015 – Make that a father-son thing

The Clippers traded their 2013 first-round draft pick, Reggie Bullock, to the Phoenix Suns, and Chris Douglas-Roberts and a 2017 second-round pick to the Celtics, in exchange for Austin Rivers.

Having previously stated he would find it difficult to coach his son, Doc the GM ignored Doc the coach and traded for him. Rivers is averaging 8.1 points a game this year and shooting a poor 28.4% from three-point range in his third year out of Duke.

So essentially, the Suns and Celtics have become two of the most amicable trade facilitators for the L.A. Clippers, taking their draft picks happily at a high price.
