3) Billups sinks Game-Winner vs. Dallas Mavericks

While the nickname is a bit exaggerate, Billups seldom hit ‘clutch’ shots when his team needed him. Ten games into his time with the Clippers, he forced the Dallas Mavericks to be a victim of those ways, knocking down the jumpshot to defeat the Mavericks a two-point victory.

Whether a drawn-up play or freelancing between Billups and Griffin, this out-of-bounds set was executed perfectly. The Mavericks irresponsibly forgot to guard the inbounder–aka Jason Kidd who fell asleep on defense–allowing Billups to step into a hand-off, wide open 3.

Outside of the game-winner, Billups, once again, showed the world why he was a pivotal piece to this team. Up to this point, Billups averaged 16.5 points per game. The shooting percentages stood on opposite spectrums of one another (Billups shot 34 percent from the field during this span and 38 percent from three), but things were working out as planned as Billups’ game pushed the Clippers to a 8-4 record.
