Darren Collison

2014-15 Salary: $1.95 million, Player Option

With Darren Collison the question of “Should he stay or should he got” doesn’t necessarily apply here. Per sources, Collison will reportedly decline his player option, opting out of the $1.9 million that would have been guaranteed going into next season. With the Clippers already being a contender and Los Angeles being his hometown, money is the only reasonable rationale behind Collison declining the option.

Throughout his NBA career, Collison’s strengths have remained the same. He’s a speedy point guard who works well in fast-paced offense. Considering the average pace for NBA teams jumped last season, that creates more opportunities for Collison to find steady work. Is he going to be a starter anywhere? It’s unlikely as the point guard position holds more depth than any other position in the league, pushing many would-be starters into reserve roles. (Trisity Miller)

VERDICT: Go!
