You know what my favorite part of the playoffs is: the endless Blake Griffin and Chris Paul commercials (sarcasm font activated); especially the Chris/Cliff Paul ones. Well, now they’ve been joined by one-half of the ‘Splash Brothers’ in State Farm’s latest commercial “Future of the Assist”.
While they started off amazing, the Cliff Paul commercials have gotten a bit stale since their inception, but State Farm keeps finding ways to add something new to the equation. Adding Chris Paul’s current nemesis in Steph Curry is a fun add in addition to embedding Paul’s son “CP4” into the commercial, also giving basketball’s most adorable son a twin. Adding Curry to the equation is a great marketing move by State Farm.
Despite the Clippers and Warriors disliking each other on the court, Paul and Curry have a solid, public relationship off the court, going back to the days Curry attended Davidson University as a video surfaced earlier last year where Paul and Lebron James were seen giving a group of young collegiate players, one that included Stephen Curry, a motivational speech.
“Future of the Assist” will likely debut when the Clippers and Warriors face off at 3 P.M. tomorrow on ABC. If you miss it’s initial viewing don’t worry. It’ll be shown countless times throughout the 2014 NBA Playoffs.
