Two games into the season, Chris Paul and Stephen Curry delivered the best point guard dual we’d get this season, combining for 80 points.

In the losing corner, Steph Curry put on a shooting clinic, scoring 38 points, 27 of that 38 coming from behind the arc as Curry shot 9-of-14 from three.

And in the winning corner, Paul played, not only his best game of the season, but one of the best we’ve ever seen from a point guard in league history, scoring a season-high 42 points while dishing 15 assists and 6 steals, the only player to produce that stat line since the 1985-86 season.

Quote of the Game

“I like the fight in the team, but not the figting. To me, when nothign sidet racks you and you just keep going, that’s toughness and that’s what I was proud of tonight. We got the lead, and all of a sudden things started getting chippy. We were able to keep our composure and keep playing. That’s a really good sign for us. That’s toughness.” – Doc Rivers
