Betting odds, pick and prediction for the Brooklyn Nets-Los Angeles Clippers matchup on Sunday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Clippers are playing their best basketball of the season, winning eight of their last 10 games to climb into the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference.

Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook are meshing at the right time, and now the team gets to take on a struggling Brooklyn Nets team that is just 4-14 in its last 18 games.

The Nets did win their last contest – a win over the Los Angeles Lakers in L.A. – but the team has slipped to seven games below .500 and sits in the No. 11 spot in the Eastern Conference entering this game.

Should bettors trust the Nets to cover a massive spread? There is a key trend that I will break down in this prediction for this game that you’ll want to know before betting on Sunday.

Nets vs. Clippers key players to watch

Brooklyn Nets

Cam Thomas: Thomas is one of the best pure scorers in the NBA, but he’s extremely up and down this season. Thomas had 33 points in the win over the Lakers, and he’s averaging 20.6 points per game. Since Jan. 1, Thomas has been putting up 15.3 points per game.

Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard: This season, Leonard has been mainly healthy, and he’s putting up massive numbers in the process. Don’t forget – this guy is one of the best players in the NBA when he’s able to stay on the floor. Kawhi is averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Nets vs. Clippers prediction and pick

The Nets have been brutal against the spread as of late, covering in just three of their last 18 games, despite upsetting the Lakers on Friday night.

I can back them here as massive underdogs against a Clippers team that has been great as a home favorite.

Los Angeles is 12-8 against the spread as a home favorite, posting an average margin of victory of 10.8 points in those games.

Plus, the Clippers have covered in four of their last five home games, only failing to cover in a win over Toronto.

I can’t trust this Brooklyn team that has posted one of the five worst net ratings in the NBA since the turn of the new year. Take the Clippers to cover on Sunday.
