The Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks face off on Monday night in one of the best matchups of a six-game slate – and it’ll be nationally televised on NBA TV.

Los Angeles is fighting to earn the top spot in the West, but the team is behind the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder in the standings.

The Clippers did pick up a huge win on Sunday afternoon, winning 89-88 in Minnesota in the ultimate slugfest. That pulled the team a little closer to a top-two seed in the West.

As for Milwaukee, the team is looking to shake a bad record against the spread this season to show it can defeat one of the best teams in the NBA.

The Bucks are favored in this one, but which side should we wager on?

Clippers vs. Bucks key players to watch

Los Angeles Clippers

James Harden: With Russell Westbrook injured, James Harden’s role as a playmaker is only going to expand for the Clippers. Harden has also been scoring the ball at a higher rate, scoring 20 or more points in three straight games before putting up a clunker against the Timberwolves on Sunday, shooting 0-for-10 from the field.

Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo: An MVP candidate, Giannis Antetokounmpo had one of his best games of the season his last time out, scoring 46 points on 16-of-22 shooting in a win over the Chicago Bulls. It’ll be interesting to see who the Clippers throw on Antetokounmpo, as the team usually plays a smaller lineup than the Bucks.

Clippers vs. Bucks prediction and pick

The Clippers have not been great as road underdogs this season, going 4-6 against the spread, but they did cover (and win) in that spot on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Bucks are just 13-15-1 against the spread as home favorites, and now they won’t have Middleton and potentially could be down Antetokounmpo tonight.

While I’d lean toward Giannis suiting up in this game, this is a lot of points to give a Clippers team that covered against the best defense in the NBA on Sunday.

I am interested to see if Paul George plays on the second night of a back-to-back after missing some time recently with an injury, but if he does the Clips should be able to hang around in this one.

Los Angeles outranks the Bucks in defensive rating and net rating and is just one spot behind the team in offensive rating this season. Milwaukee lacks some of the wing defenders to deal with a healthy Clippers team – and even with Russell Westbrook out – Los Angeles showed it has the depth to win on Sunday even if a player like Harden struggles.

Five points is simply too many in this game.

Pick: Clippers +5.5 (-110)
