De’Andre Hunter – G Virginia

This one might be a stretch, as De’Andre Hunter may have played himself into the mid-lottery. Still, he’s worth a look in case there is some Draft Day magic.

Hunter is listed as a guard, but at 6’7, can play either wing position. Along with his height, he already has an NBA body at 223 pounds and a 7’3 wingspan.

He’s a capable scorer, putting up 14.8 points per game on 53% shooting. That seems low, but it’s worth remembering that UVA plays with one of the slowest paces in the country.

The Ringer called him “best NBA prospect Tony Bennett has ever coached”. He won the ACC Sixth Man of the Year last year, but didn’t get much exposure after his school was upset in the first round.

For the Clippers, he could provide depth off the bench at the wing and could potentially become the team’s replacement for Lou Williams. If he can provide that kind of scoring off the bench while also bothering players with his length, Hunter could end up being seen as a steal if he falls outside of the top ten.

Are there other players you’d like to see the LA Clippers land? If so, who? Let us know on Twitter and keep checking back here as we watch and see if the team will be in the lottery or the postseason.
