The Bad

I’m preaching to the choir here, but Avery Bradley is just not playing efficiently. His USG% is low at 14.2 percent, but he’s got an abysmal 46.8 TS%, good (and I use that term loosely) for 226th among players who play at least 20 minutes per game. Note that there are only 234 of those players. It’s not good.

Bradley’s net rating doesn’t do him any favors either. At -3.1, he sits comfortably at 175th out of those 234 players. It’s hard to overstate how inefficient he has been.

Another name to look at is Marcin Gortat. The big man has a -4.9 net rating, placing him at 237th out of 312 players who’ve played at least 15 minutes per game. Among centers, who typically shoot more efficiently than guards, Gortat’s TS% of 57.4 percent places him 42nd out of 56th (minutes per game greater than 15).

Of course, the two are significant members of the LA Clippers’ rotation and contribute to other aspects of the game. It’s just hard to ignore the numbers.
