No. 10: Eric Piatkowski
Franchise Averages: 8.6 PTS, 2.5 REB, .402 3P%
Eric Piatkowski was a poor man’s Klay Thompson, before there even was one. “The Polish Rifle” consistently made a high percentage of his three-point attempts, peaking at nearly 47% in 2001.
Aside from that, Piatkowski was a great teammate and a fan favorite during his time with the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent nine seasons with the team, and though he never scored more than 11 points per game, fans respected his play style and tried to emulate his deep-ball accuracy.
If Piatkowski played today, there’s a good chance that he would be regarded as one of the best shooters in the league. The thing is, while the Rifle was able to convert such a percentage from beyond the arc, he never attempted more than four per game. It just wasn’t as popular a shot back then as it is now.
Still though, Piatkowski was a solid role player for Los Angeles, and one that won’t be forgotten by fans anytime soon.
