Shapan Debnath of Clips Nation, brings up how valuable Wesley Johnson’s numbers actually were in the playoffs. Surprisingly, Johnson had a very efficient high net positive rating when he was on the court. In his first playoff series last year against Portland, a lot was going on with the Clippers, but Johnson showed up and played This year, the LA Clippers need the same Wesley Johnson from last years first round playoffs to show up, not the same Wes of this regular season.
Wesley matching up with the Utah Jazz this round is precisely an unfavorable match up for the team. Unfortunately one of Utah’s star players, Gordan Hayward, is also listed at small forward. He is a phenomenal scorer, and LA needs a top defender on him. That is where Luc comes in, so he will be hogging the majority of minutes at small forward. Although, when the Clippers need a burst on offense, Wesley Johnson is the better choice. Utah at times will have trouble scoring, so when they are locking the Clippers down defensively, look for Doc to switch things up and put Wes in for offensive purposes only.
