Los Angeles Clippers: Birthday Tribute to Boban Marjanovic

In honor of his birthday today, we take a look at Boban Marjanovic and all the reasons Los Angeles Clippers and NBA fans love him.

Happy birthday to Boban Marjanovic! The Los Angeles Clippers center turns 30 years old today and in honor of this, let’s take a look at all the reasons we love him.

Dancer

Outside of basketball, Boban is most known for his dancing videos with teammate and best friend Tobias Harris. Bobi and Tobi, as they have been nicknamed, gained internet fame after dancing to Chicken Noodle Soup. If you haven’t seen that, treat yourself by clicking play below.

After this video went viral, Boban has made several appearances on Instagram stories as well as TV shows such as Sports Nation. He also enjoys dancing during warm-ups.

Acting

Boban also is exploring the world of acting. The 7’3″ Serbian was announced to be part of John Wick 3, which was filming this summer.

This may be his biggest role to date, but Boban also has acted for The Ringer this summer when he provided a voice over of the movie White Chicks.

Now, according to Boban himself, he is producing a web series with Tobias Harris. However, any time a story popped up about the series, Tobias seemed confused about his involvement.

Basketball

This is the real reason we are all here, right? Boban is a fan favorite first and foremost for his basketball capabilities. His height makes him tower over almost every player and although we didn’t know what to expect when we traded for him, Bobi did not disappoint.

In his 20 games with the Clippers, Boban put up 5.9 points, grabbed 4.4 rebounds and blocked 0.3 shots per game. Although the shot block number seems low for a player his size, his mere presence in the lane keeps players from driving.

Boban’s stand out game this season came in Denver, when the center came off the bench and scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds along with two steals. His outburst gave the Clippers a win in a game they looked to have no chance in.

Fans can expect Boban to play a little more this season after the departure of DeAndre Jordan. The team did add Marcin Gortat to take the starting role, but Boban will see decent minutes off the bench.
