RETAbet Bilbao Basket club forward and former D-League All-Star Micheal Eric will be playing on the LA Clippers’ Summer League team in Las Vegas.

Micheal Eric will join the LA Clippers’ summer league team in Las Vegas. The forward spent the ’16-’17 season playing overseas for RETAbet Bilbao Basket in the Spanish ACB and Eurocup competition.

Per DefPenHoops, the Clippers are adding Nigerian-born forward Micheal Eric to their Las Vegas Summer League Roster. The former Temple University graduate went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft and has participated in the NBA Summer Leagues in almost every season since. Eric has played for the Summer League teams of the Cavaliers (’12-’13 Vegas), Warriors (’13-’14 Vegas), Sixers (’13-’14 Orlando), Bucks (’15-’16 Vegas), and the Wizards (’16-’17 Vegas). The forward never made it to the regular season with any of those teams but did appear in preseason games for the Cavs and Bucks.

Eric’s last stint in the D-League was in the ’15-’16 season with the Texas Legends, where he averaged 11.8 points, 9.38 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting a little over 60 percent from the floor. In that ’15-’16 season, Eric made the D-League All-Star Team and also made the D-League All-Defensive First Team.

Instead of returning to the D-League for the ’16-’17 season, the 6’11 big man opted to play overseas in the Spanish ACB and Eurocup competition for the RETAbet Bilbao Basket club. In 38 games with Bilbao Basket, Eric averaged 9.7 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 62.7 percent from the floor in 20 minutes per game.

Eric will have to compete for minutes on the LA Clippers Summer League Team with former LA draft picks Brice Johnson and Diamond Stone along with undrafted signee Isaiah Hicks and the newest acquisitions in the Chris Paul trade, Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Wiltjer, if the Clippers decide to include them on the team.
