As the LA Clippers prepare for their first round match-up with the Utah Jazz, here is how Jamal Crawford needs to contribute for a successful series victory.

As we know, when it comes to the playoffs there isn’t one superhero player who can win it all by themselves. With a stacked Western Conference, every player is going to need to step up and outperform their match-up. It all starts against the Utah Jazz, who are not only one of the most improved teams in the NBA this season, but they carry crazy depth at almost every position. So what exactly does Jamal Crawford need to do coming off the bench for the LA Clippers? Before we get into that, let’s look at how he shined this season.

Here is a look at Jamal Crawford’s averages this season:

FG%       3P%       2P%       eFG%       FT%       TRB       AST       STL       TO       PF       PTS

.411      .359        .442     .478        .855       1.6         2.6         0.8       1.7      1.4      12.4

Jamal Crawford may not be having a career year and his numbers may have taken a slight dip below his career averages, but, like we discussed a couple weeks ago Jamal Crawford has been a solid asset to this team.

This year alone, Crawford has jumped from no. 89 on the NBA All-Time scoring list to no. 68. At age 37, he’s played in all of the LA Clippers games this season.

Crawford’s biggest game this season coincidentally came against the Utah Jazz on March 25th. He scored 28 points on 8 for 12 from the field, including 3 for 6 from behind the three-point line. Crawford sank 9 of 9 from the free throw line, dished out 3 assists and swiped 2 steals on defense.

So what exactly do we need from Jamal Crawford against the Jazz come postseason? Lets get into it.
